Plaza is a novel system chain that Rob Habermeier, co-founder of Polkadot, has proposed. Its objective is to facilitate operations for users, developers, LPs, and DApps by consolidating parallel chain functions to enhance scalability and usability across the Polkadot network.
Rob Habermeier, co-founder of Polkadot, has suggested the development of a new system chain, Plaza, with the objective of consolidating parallel chain functions and improving network scalability, as reported by Odaily. Habermeier observed that the current distribution of functions across numerous chains presents challenges to consumers and developers, resulting in scalability and fragmentation limitations. The construction of a scalable synchronous system is the focus of his advocacy, with an emphasis on usability.
Plaza's objective is to consolidate parallel chain functions, including asset issuance, smart contracts, staking, cross-chain linkage, and near-zero fees, into a single chain. It is anticipated that this simplification will simplify operations for developers, consumers, LPs, and DApps. The chain will develop from the current AssetHub, which already facilitates asset purses, bridging, and tool integration.
Habermeier is of the opinion that the integration of functions into a singular chain will be advantageous in light of Polkadot's forthcoming introduction of Elastic Scaling. If Plaza were to be approved, he declared that it would streamline interactions throughout the complete Polkadot network, thereby enabling developers to concentrate on scalability.
